Orix Buffaloes came from behind to win, extending their lead to a season-high 10 games above .500. Their seven-game winning streak against Nippon-Ham at home spanned across seasons, their first in 26 years since 1999-2000. Manager Mamoru Kishida praised his players, saying, "Everyone really showed maximum concentration when it mattered most, and the results are showing. They truly showed their never-give-up attitude until the very end."

In his first professional start, third-year high school graduate Miyakuni gave up two runs in three innings. While his first win was put on hold, the rising star, who was only officially registered as a professional player on the 7th, left his mark. The manager praised him, saying, "He's always pitched in a calm manner, even in the minor leagues. I think he was nervous, but he pitch as usual. He had plenty of power."

Trailing by one run in the fourth inning, with no outs and a runner on first, Tomoya Mori hit a game-winning two-run homer to right field, his third of the season. In the eighth inning, with two outs, he hit his second home run of the game, his fourth of the season, a solo shot to right field. For Mori, hitting two home runs in a single game was the first time since June 10, 2023, against DeNA (Kyocera Dome Osaka). Manager Kishida expressed his immense confidence in Mori, saying, "Tomoya's two home runs were huge. He seems to be in much better form. I think the pitchers are scared of him now."

They maintain their lead in first place, 3.5 games ahead of second-place Softbank Hawks. The manager tightened the reins, saying, "There's still a long way to go, but it would be best if we could keep building on this. We just have to take it one game at a time, so we'll do our best."
