Nippon-Ham won a big game against Rakuten Eagles, ending their two-game losing streak.

Starting pitcher Ito gave up a go-ahead home run to Taira in the third inning, but after that he managed to get out of jams despite allowing runner on base, finishing with 7 innings pitched, 4 hit 1 runs. He earned his third win of the season.

In the 35th game of the season, Gunji, who was not in the cleanup spot for the first time in starting line-up, batted second, while Reyes took the cleanup spot for the first time this season.

In the fifth inning, they tied the game on a double play play hit by Manami, and in the sixth inning, with two outs and runners on first and second, Reyes hit a game-winning RBI single to left field. Fifth batter Nomura followed with another RBI hit, effectively supporting starting pitcher Ito.
