
◆ Pacific League Seibu Lions 4-6 Softbank Hawks (May 5th, Belluna Dome)
Trailing by one run in the fifth inning, Softbank Hawks 's Yudai Shoji, making starting line-up first start of the season, led off with doble, followed by a timely doble from Ukyo Shuto to tie the game. With the bases loaded loaded and one out, Tatsuru Yanagimachi hit a go-ahead two-run doble to right-center field. Another run was added with sacrifice fly from Hotaka Yamakawa, giving SoftBank a four-run lead in the inning and turning the game around.
In the bottom of the inning, starting pitcher Haru Matsumoto gave up a timely doble to Seiya Watanabe with one out and runners on first and second, and was pulled again with one out and runners on second and third. Taiga Kamichatani, who came in second, got Nevin to struck out swinging, then got Taiga Hirasawa out to fly out to left with two outs and bases loaded, escaping the jam.
From the sixth inning onwards, Hernandez, Osuna, Hikaru Kimura, and Yuki Matsumoto took the mound and held on for the win. Kamichatani earned his third win, and Matsumoto Yuki recorded his fourth save.
Softbank Hawks ended their two-game losing streak, extending their winning streak on Children's Day to 10 games since 2014, with two draws in between.
