Nippon-Ham suffered a late-game comeback loss, ending their winning streak. Their deficit increased to three games, dropping them to fifth place.

In the seventh inning, with both teams scoreless, Mizuno led off with doble to left field, and Isobata advanced him to third with one out. At this point, pinch hitter Castro for Martinez hit sacrifice fly fly to center field, breaking the tie.

Starting pitcher Fukushima relied on his powerful fastball closer the opposing team to just three scattered hit through six innings. In the seventh inning, with one out and runners on second and third base, he threw six consecutive fastballs, striking out two batters in a row on three pitches struck out to escape the jam.
