Nippon-Ham' Chusei Mannami

◆ Pacific League: Nippon-Ham vs. Orix Orix Buffaloes (3rd, ES CON FIELD)

Nippon-Ham outfielder Chusei Mannami hit his 10th home run of the season in his 32nd game, the fastest in both leagues. In the bottom of the 6th inning with two outs and the score 2-0, he connected with Kuri's changeup and sent a massive blast into the second deck of left field, estimated to have traveled 125 meters. The ball speed was recorded at 177 km/h, and he knew it was Home Run the moment he hit it, before calmly walking off the bat.

Reaching 10 home runs faster than anyone else in the Central or Pacific League is a feat not accomplished in two years, the first being in 2011. He is also only the third player in the team's history to do so, following Isao Harimoto in 1962 and 1971, and Solaita in 1980 and 1981, thus etching his name into the team's history.
