On May 1st, Seibu Lions win Lotte 10-0 at Zozo Marine Stadium Stadium. Seibu Lions 's starting pitcher was second-year player Sou Sato who was registered as a regular player on April 30th, making his professional debut. Despite the challenging weather with winds of 16 meters per second, he pitched seven innings, allowing only two hit, strike out nine, Hit by Pitch two, and giving up no runs, showcasing his excellent control to earn his first professional win.

On the 1st broadcast of CS Fuji TV ONE's "Pro baseball News 2026", Sato's pitch was picked up. Commentator Masaki Saito said, "I wonder why such a good pitcher was training. I hated the wind the most. I hate the wind more than the rain, so I think it's really great to be able to throw so much in the midst of it."

Tomotaka Sakaguchi, who was also appearing as a commentator, praised Sato's pitching, saying, "He throws some really lively pitch. The angle of his crossfire is good, and the way change-up moves is also impressive, although I'm sure the wind had an effect. I think left-handed batters will have a really hard time against him."
