◆ Pacific League Nippon-Ham 5-1 Orix Buffaloes (August 1st, ES CON FIELD)

Orix Buffaloes suffered their fourth consecutive loss at ES CON FIELD, the team's home stadium. Their last win there was on August 21, 2013, bringing their regular season losing streak to five games. Including their defeat in the first stage of the Climax Series that same year, their total losing streak at the stadium is seven games.

Regarding ES CON FIELD, manager Mamoru Kishida said, "The players don't think it's that difficult to play there..." He then added, "We were beaten today by Kato (Takashi)," acknowledging the opposing starting pitcher who closer to just one run until the middle of the fifth inning.

Starter Soya scored 5 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings for the first loss of the season. 6 struck out showed a strong pitch to take away, but Castro was hit by a manbo and a shot was painful. The commander bit his lip, saying, "The ball I was throwing wasn't bad, and I can't completely prevent it (about the safety squeeze allowed by Manami in the 4th inning with 1 out and 1 out, and 3rd base), so it's best not to do it."

Despite lose, he praised Watanabe, who made a series of spectacular plays in center defense, saying, "He's been playing well all along." He looked ahead, saying, "We'll switch gears and do our best again tomorrow. Of course, we go into every game intending to win, but tomorrow we'll prepare so that we can win."
