◆ Pacific League: Nippon-Ham vs. Orix Orix Buffaloes (August 1st, ES CON FIELD)

Nippon-Ham outfielder Chusei Mannami hit a home run that put him far ahead in the league title.

With two outs runner none in the 6th inning, he Orix Buffaloes carried Soya's fork first pitch into the right-field stands. He commented on his league-leading No. 9 solo shot, "They really don't have many sweet pitches, but I think it was a good home run one because I was able to finish off a floaty fork first pitch.

In the fourth inning with one out and runners on first and third base, Manami successfully executed a safety squeeze (a timely infield hit) by rolling the ball between pitcher and first base. His small ball skills and power brought in a valuable additional run.
