Lotte alumnus Masahide Kobayashi threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

He appeared in a uniform with number 30. Despite the strong winds, he threw a no-bounce pitch with the same form as when he was a player, drawing cheers from the fans.

Kobayashi joined the Chiba Lotte Marines in 1998 as the first overall pick in the draft, after playing for Tsuru High School, Nippon Sport Science University, and Tokyo Gas. In 2005, he made a significant contribution to the team's championship as their closer, earning the nickname "The Breakwater of Makuhari" and becoming beloved by fans at Marine Stadium.
