Saitama Seibu Lions Shuta Tonosaki underwent a "right L2/3 transforaminal total endoscopic disc cystectomy" on the 23rd to improve his physical condition. He is expected to be out of action for two months.

Tonosaki has played in 9 games this season, batting .200 (6 At Bat 30 hit), with 1 Home Run and 5 RBI. On the 5th, he achieved both 1000 hit and 200 doble, but he has not played since the game against Fukuoka Softbank on the 9th.

◇ Chiba Lotte Marines to hold "SDGs outreach classes with free game tickets" for elementary and junior high school students.

On May 16th, during their game against Orix Buffaloes, Chiba Lotte Marines will be holding their "3rd Annual SDGs Outreach Program with Free Game Tickets at Zozo Marine Stadium," targeting elementary and junior high school students, following on from last year's event.

The "SDGs Outreach Program" is an event organized by official sponsor Morito Co., Ltd. for elementary and junior high school students. The program aims to help children understand the importance of the SDGs and promote activities that will contribute to a sustainable future. On the day of the program, there will be a lesson on the SDGs with "the ocean" as the keyword, as well as a hands-on crafting experience where participants will make amulets using the uniform pants worn by the players. Participants in the outreach program will receive a pair of tickets to the game that day and the amulet they made during the lesson.

This event is being held as part of the "FOR THE MARINE Project," a collaborative project between "Morito," which is challenging the problem of marine pollution with the aim of realizing a sustainable world, and "MARINES," which is based in a seaside town and constantly takes on new challenges, both of whom share a common desire to continue taking on challenges with the sea as their stage.

A special commercial for "Sato Chemical" featuring Chiba Toshiya Sato player Chiba Lotte Marines Sato will be shown on the stadium's inning screen between innings during games at ZOZO Rakuten Eagles Zozo Marine Stadium, starting from the game against Tohoku Rakuten on April 28th until the final game of the 2026 regular season.

Sato Chemical Co., Ltd. is a general trading company for building materials headquartered in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture.
