Seibu Lions announced on the 27th that Shuta Tonosaki underwent a transforaminal total endoscopic discectomy at a hospital in Hyogo Prefecture on April 23rd to improve his physical condition. He is expected to be out for two months before returning to play.

So far this season, Tonosaki has appeared in 9 games, batting .200 Home Run and 5 RBI.
