Nippon-Ham outfielder Chusei Mannami hit his eighth home run of the season, putting him at the top of the league in his second at-bat in the fourth inning with no outs, off Taira's 153 km/h fastball to center field. The ball was recorded to travel at 172 km/h, and he commented, "It was an inside pitch, but I rotated my body well and hit a strong ball. I think it was a technically high-level form." He is now two home runs ahead of second-place Kondo of Softbank Hawks Hawks.
