Seibu Lions Takayoshi Yamamura infielder hit his first solo shot of the season.

He started the game as the fifth batter and first baseman. In the eighth inning with one out and a one-run lead, he hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot to the right field foul pole, which added a crucial extra run. He smiled and said, "I'm glad I was able to finish it off with one swing. I want to be the kind of hitter that helps the team win."

Yamamura had joined the first team the previous day, on the 16th, for the game against Orix Buffaloes (at Kyocera Dome).
