In the first inning, lead-off hitter Kuwahara grounded out to the shortstop, but Genda and Kojima followed with consecutive hits, creating a scoring opportunity with runners on first and second with one out. Then, Seiya Watanabe hit a 134 km/h fork thrown by Tanaka Haru to left field for the first run. Watanabe raised his right hand in the air on first base. "I'm glad I was able to hit the ball that floated up in a sweet spot for a home run," he commented.
With two outs and the bases loaded, Canario hit doble to right-center sweep, giving his team a four-run lead in the first inning.
