Nippon-Ham secured their first away win of the season by holding onto the one-run lead they took in the fourth inning with a solo home run by Castro. On the pitching side, starter Kitayama delivered a strong performance, allowing only three hit striking strike out ten over eight innings, earning his first win of the season.

The team's only hit was Home Run by Castro. This 1-0 win, achieved with only one Home Run (a home hit), was the first time the team had won since April 17, 2022, against Lotte (at ZOZO Marine Stadium), when Manami hit a home run. It was the fifth such rare win in Pacific League and the eleventh in history (twice in the single-league era and four Central League), and manager Shinjo was in high spirits, saying, "That's right, Lotte. Is it the first time since then? A win is a win, though. Sometimes you can't win even with 11 home runs."

This is only the fourth time since the 1990s that Home Run has win 1-0 with only one hit, a home run. In addition to the two most recent instances, another was achieved in April 1991 against Orix Buffaloes (Tokyo Dome) with a home run by Fujio Tamura. With the exception of Yokohama's victory against Hiroshima in September 2001 (at Yokohama), all of these victories have coincidentally occurred in April, with Nippon-Ham playing in the same game.
