Nippon-Ham pitcher Haruki Hosono gave up a single to Tatsumi with two outs in the first inning, ending no hitter that had continued since the start of the season.
Hosono started the home opener against Lotte on March 31 (at Escon Stadium), throwing 128 pitches over nine innings, strike out, and Hit by Pitch only two to achieve the 91st no hitter in history and the 103rd overall. His brilliant pitching broke the bad streak that had started the season with three consecutive losses.
