Tonosaki cited his "first home run" on July 25, 2015, against Nippon-Ham Fighters (Seibu Lions Prince Dome), as the most memorable moment of his rookie year. "They called it a foul ball, but after a review it was ruled home run, so that's probably the most memorable," he recalled nostalgically.
Tonozaki entered the Seibu Lions as the third overall pick in the 14-year draft out of Fuji University. He became the 327th player in baseball and Seibu Lions the first to total 1,000 hit since Sosuke Genda infielder he achieved it on July 14, 2012 against Rakuten Eagles (Rakuten Eagles Mobile).
