Yuki Yanagita

◆ Pacific League 3-4 Softbank Hawks (May 5th, ZOZO Marine Stadium)

Softbank Hawks There was a moment when Yuki Yanagita outfielder took over in the middle of Hit by Pitch.

In his third at-bat in the fifth inning with one out and a runner on first base, he was hit near his right wrist by a fastball from Lotte's Kojima. His hand became trapped between the protective gear he was wearing on the back of his hand and the ball, resulting in bleeding and swelling.

After receiving treatment on the bench, he returned to ground, but was substituted out for the defense.

After the game, Yanagida came out with his right hand taped up and grinned, saying, "I'm fine. I hate hospitals." Manager Kokubo, who heard there was no bone damage, said, "I was worried, but I'm relieved," and added that they would monitor how the swelling subsided.
