◆ Pacific League: Nippon-Ham vs. Orix Orix Buffaloes (April 4th, ES CON FIELD)

Orix Buffaloes pitcher Shota Abe has joined the first team for the first time. In 2013, he only played in 16 games, and in an effort to stay on the team, he changed pitch form to a sidearm style. He had a runs performance in three exhibition games, but was left off the opening day roster. "I just have to believe in what I'm doing now and keep going," he said, and ERA 1.50 in seven games in the farm league. His steady efforts to impress have finally paid off.

The team suffered its first consecutive losses of the season against Nippon-Ham Fighters on the 3rd and 4th (at Esconfeed), and is starting again from a 50% winning percentage. The experienced right-handed pitcher, who is also a mood-maker for the team, will be joining bullpen.
