Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out and runners on first and third, Nishikawa hit a go-ahead three-run homer to right field off Orix Buffaloes starter Kuri. His confident walk over the plate turned the game around.

In the sixth inning, a defense error allowed the opposing team to tie the game, but in the seventh inning, with two outs and runners on first and second base, Nomura, who had just intentional walk Kiyomiya Yuki being intentionally walked, hit a three-run homer to right field off Orix Buffaloes 's Yamazaki, his third of the season.
