Rakuten Eagles Eagles pitcher Chiharu Tanaka (25) earned his first professional save. He took the mound in the 9th inning with the score 2-0. He gave up one run but managed to get out of the inning with minimal runs.

Last season, his third as a professional, he didn't make a single appearance in The Giants' first team. The right-handed pitcher, who joined The Giants as compensation for Takahiro Norimoto's free agent transfer from Rakuten Eagles, made a strong impression in his new team.
