Nippon-Ham scored effectively with three home runs and other plays, securing a decisive victory over Lotte and their first series win of the season.
In the first inning, Nomura, who replaced the injured Reyes as designated hitter, hit a solo home run to the second deck in left field to give starting line-up the lead. In the second inning, Narama, making his first start of the season, hit a two-run homer to the second deck in left field to add to the score.
In the third inning, with two outs and runners on first and third, Nishikawa, also making starting line-up first start of the season, hit a timely hit to right field. Nishikawa had a great game overall, with two hit, two RBI, and one stolen base, including doble down the right field line in the second inning, which was his first hit since returning to the team.
In the sixth inning, Yu Shimizu, making starting line-up first start of the season, hit a two-run homer to right-center field. This was his first home run in five years, bringing the team's total to 16 home runs in the first six games of the season, tying the professional baseball record set by Taiyo in 1977 and Yakult in 1999.
