In the bottom of the sixth inning with one out and a runner on first, he hit a 144 km/h pitch from Lotte's starting pitcher Nishino to right-center field. The ball just cleared the wall, and he raised his right arm in triumph.

In his first starting line-up of the season, Shimizu hit a two-run homer over the right field fence, his first home run in five years since 2021. Regarding his first Home Run since manager Shinjo took over, he commented, "Before I stepped up to the plate, I received advice from the boss (manager Shinjo), and I was able to put it into practice at the plate. I'm grateful to the boss for this great result."
