Before Rakuten Eagles-Softbank Hawks game, Japan women's rugby national team player Shusa Otsuka threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Otsuka commented through Rakuten Eagles team, "I was nervous, but I was glad that I was able to throw straight like in practice. I think I was able to put into practice the advice I received from Fujiwara and Ginji during practice. Even in the rain, many Rakuten Eagles fans gathered at the stadium, and I was able to enjoy an atmosphere that I don't usually get to experience. After this, I would like to cheer on Rakuten Eagles together with the fans!"

Ayano Sakurai, who also attended the event, commented, "She looked very nervous, but I thought it was impressive that she was able to perform so well when it mattered. To all Rakuten Eagles players, please do your best to aim for win!"
