Lotte's pitcher Andre Jackson (29) threw 89 pitches over 5 innings, allowing only one hit, strike out five, and giving up no runs. He left the game with the opportunity to winning pitcher since transferring from DeNA.

In his third year in NPB, the right-hander made his debut for Escon and gave up doble to Reyes that hit the center wall with two outs in the first inning. However, he got Gunji closer to third base, preventing any runs. In the second and third innings, he allowed runner on base but pitched tenaciously and got out of pitch without giving up any runs.

Then, in the 4th inning, the offense that had allowed Hosono to throw no hitter against Nippon-Ham on March 31st created a good opportunity with two hit and runners on first and second with two outs. Soto then closer the side in the 4th and 5th innings, holding onto the lead, and handed the ball over to the second pitcher, Takano.
