Hokkaido Nippon-Ham player Yuki Nomura hit a go-ahead home run in his first at-bat of the season.

In the top of the second inning, with two outs and no runner on base, Nomura stepped up to the plate. He was making starting line-up first start of the season as the sixth batter and left fielder. With a 1-1 count, he connected with breaking ball from opposing pitcher Haru Matsumoto, sending the ball in a high arc. It went straight into the left field stands, giving his team the first run of the game.

In the previous day's game, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham batting lineup saw Home Run Kotaro Kiyomiya, Chusei Mannami, and Shun Mizutani. In this game, Nomura also hit a home run, further increasing their momentum.
