Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo praised Haruki Hosono for achieving no hitter.

Hosono threw 128 pitches over nine innings, achieving no hitter with only two Hit by Pitch 12 strike out. Manager Shinjo praised the excellent defense that set walk to Takabe (the leadoff batter) in the first inning, I think that double play by Yamagata and Mizuno allowed him to achieve no hitter."

He then praised Hosono, saying, "Hosono was incredibly nervous from bullpen. He was so nervous, it was unbelievable. He's the type of pitcher who can perform well when he's nervous, so I hope he gets even more nervous in the future (laughs). He changed his form, because he was throwing 150 km/h in the 9th inning, right? At the same speed as in the 1st inning. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does in the future."

In the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, first baseman Yukio Kiyomiya reached base after a ground ball was mishandled. When asked how he felt when the play was recorded as an error and the no-hit streak continued, he said, "Wasn't that on purpose? (laughs) I was like, 'Put an E (error), please put an E on it.' Well, Kiyomiya did hit two Home Run runs today, so it must have been unbearable for the fielders as well."

When asked again about the factors that led to him securing a spot in the opening rotation, he said, "He's just a good pitcher, in my opinion. He's gotten even better since his control improved. I really want to throw fastballs, so I was really impressed when he transformed into pitcher could control his pitches well." Regarding his outstanding performance that ended the team's three-game losing streak at the start of the season, he said, "He changed the heavy atmosphere. I was happy that we were able to show a good game. This is just the beginning," expressing his gratitude once again.
