Softbank Hawks won all their games with come-from-behind victories, achieving their first four-game winning streak to start the season in three years. Trailing by one run in the third inning with two outs and runners on first and second, Yuki Yanagita hit a game-tying RBI single to right field. Facing Rakuten's Kenta Maeda, who is the same age as Rakuten Eagles (born in 1988), for the first time in 13 years, Yanagita fulfilled his role as the cleanup hitter.
