Mitsuki Ono, who won a bronze medal in the women's snowboard halfpipe at the Milan-Cortina Olympics, appeared to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the home opener on the 31st.

Wearing number "35" uniform, he stepped onto mound. The ball, thrown with a fluid form, traced a beautiful parabola and landed in catcher 's mitt after just one bounce.

Having completed his important role in front of a packed crowd, Ono smiled shyly and said, "I might be more nervous today than at the Olympics." He said he had practiced pitch for about a month, and reflected, "I wanted to throw it a little further, but I was able to throw it straight, so I guess that's good."
