Rakuten Eagles Hideto Asamura infielder (35) sent a congratulatory comment to his alma mater, Toin Osaka, after they won the Spring Senbatsu Tournament on March 31.

He said through the team, "Congratulations on the championship. I'm happy to see my juniors doing so well, and it's been a great source of inspiration for me. I'm looking forward to seeing them make even greater strides in the summer tournament. I'll do my best not to be outdone."

On this day, Osaka Toin defeated Chiben Gakuen (Nara) in a showdown between two teams from the Kinki region, achieving their 10th national championship in total across spring and summer tournaments. This is a remarkable achievement, second only to Chukyo University Chukyo (Aichi) with 11 championships. Furthermore, their 5th Spring Koshien championship ties them with Toho (Aichi) for the most championships.

In the summer of 2008, when Asamura was a member, the team achieved a historic 17-0 victory against Tokoha Gakuen Kikugawa (Shizuoka) in the final.
