Rakuten Eagles pitcher Ryota Takinaka missed out on his first win of the season. In the third inning, with the score tied 0-0, he allowed doble down the right field line to Ota, putting him in a jam, and then gave up a two-run homer to Nakagawa. The right-hander, who was pulled in the middle of the fourth inning after giving up four hit and two runs, expressed his frustration, saying, "I was able to hold on despite allowing runner on base, so I regret that the one pitch I threw to Ota was too high. I think I should have been calmer and thrown it lower."
