Softbank Hawks Kazuo Ono pitcher Kazuo Ohno has been added to the active roster.

On the 21st, he pitched well as a starter in a farm league game against Hanshin Tigers (at Tamasta Chikugo), throwing 6 2/3 runs. pitcher coach Kurano evaluated his suitability, saying, "He can be both a starter and reliever," and explained his promotion to the first team by saying, "We decided he was needed as reliever. We had been preparing for this for some time."

He spent most of this spring's Miyazaki training camp with the B team, but he also had the opportunity to be promoted to the A team. He is expected to be a starting pitcher candidate to fill the void left by Arihara, who has since transferred to Nippon-Ham.
