Rakuten Eagles announced on the 25th that Rui Muneyama was diagnosed with a "left wrist joint cartilage (TFCC) injury" at a hospital in Tokyo, and that he will aim to return to the team depending on his recovery progress.

Muneyama was injured while sliding during an exhibition game against The Giants on the 20th. He was absent from games on the 21st and 22nd.
