◆Farm League: Orix Buffaloes vs. Hanshin Tigers (24th, Kyocera Dome Osaka)
Sean Hjelle, the new foreign pitcher for Orix Buffaloes (formerly of the Giants), made a start for a tune-up appearance. In the first inning, he faced runners on first and second with no outs, but struck out Maekawa, Nishijun, and Tateishi in succession. In the second inning, he struck out out Devaney and Tanihata, and was replaced after two runs innings with 33 pitches.
He won all three of his spring training games, pitching a total of 12 inning, securing a spot in the starting rotation. At 213 centimeters, he is the tallest pitcher with major league experience to date. He is ready for the real season.
