Both teams held a moment of silence before the exhibition game between Seibu Lions and Hanshin Tigers at Koshien.

This day marked the 15th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Flags were flown at half-mast at the stadium, and both teams lined up for about a minute before the game to mourn the victims.
