Samurai Japan's Ukyo Shuto outfielder (30) was the first starting line-up in his second WBC tournament at "No. 7, center field." He hit his first hit in his third at bat in the seventh inning with no outs. It was thought to be a mediocre playground ball, but he was able to infield hit with his agile footwork. He succeeded in stealing second in the next at-bat by Nakamura. He also gave up three runs in the right field bleachers in the 8th inning, right after scoring a run.

In the 5th WBC in 2023, he had only one at-bat and the result was struck out. He had set a goal before the tournament, saying, "This time I want to fly forward. This time, too, he marked 2 stolen base as a trump card for the substitutes until the third game. In the 9th inning against Korea, he showed a super play in the middle defense.
