Open game Nippon-Ham 5-3 Lotte (7th, Escond)

Nippon-Ham 's draft No. 1 Jay Ohkawa (Jii) pitcher (22) = Meiji University = made a grand "Escon debut" with a complete pitch in the first inning. In the open game against Lotte, he took the mound from the 8th inning of 5-3. Matsukawa in the lead was grounded with a cutter, Tomosugi flew to the right with a change-up, and from Yamamoto, he finished off with a 3-pitch struck out with the fastest 151 km fastball of the day, and raised a roar on the mound. "I threw it with all my might, swinging my arms as hard as I could with the feeling that I wanted to take struck out with fastball. It's a pitch style, or rather, I bark unconsciously, but I think I was able to go as I wanted." With this ball, he appealed to the fans of Hokkaido with "Jay Ohkawa".

His fastest pitch of the day was 151 km/h. The right-hander, whose specialty is a "stabbing straight ball" that he used to overwhelm opponents as a guardian god at Meiji University, said, "Since I joined the team, I haven't been able to get struck out on fastball, so I think it was pretty significant that I was able to get that (straight ball) today. I don't feel like I'm at my best yet, so I think there are elements I can improve from here on out. The highly ambitious DRA1 right-hander is now looking at himself and aiming for a higher level of performance.
