Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo (54) gave high praise to first-round draft pick rookie pitcher Jay Ohkawa (22) = Meiji University = who made a perfect inning pitch at Escon. The right-hander, who recorded a top speed of 151 km/h and closer the opposing team runs with one strike out in one inning, was praised with comments such as, "He can do so much more. I think he can throw balls with more sharpness, not just speed, but sharpness, so I have high expectations for that. I hope he gets used to the Escon mound quickly, and he doesn't need to get used to the Kamagaya mound." He called for further growth.
