Nippon-Ham The first rookie Hiroki Tsuneya infielder (Hokkai-Gakuen University), a first-round draft pick in the developmental draft, marked the first hit & first RBI of the open competition.

In his second at-bat in the third inning with one out and runners on second and third, he connected with breaking ball from Lotte's starting pitcher, Haru Tanaka. He hit a two-run triple deep into left-center field, where defense was playing shallow. As he slid into third base, he struck a "DOMI!" pose towards the dugout.

On this day, all the new players joined the first team for an introductory ceremony. All five rookie fielder were in starting line-up. It was his first hit in his fifth at-bat of the preseason games.
