Seibu Lions successfully turned the game around thanks to a hit by third-round draft outfielder (22), who is from Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido.
He came to bat in the ninth inning with two outs and the bases loaded, trailing by one point. On the first pitch, he hit fork from Tamai, but the ball he hit back caused an error by second baseman, allowing two runners to score.
Akiyama is from Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, and joined Seibu Lions as the third pick in the 2013 draft from Chukyo University. This spring, he completed the first-team camp in Nango, Miyazaki, and played in all four exhibition games.
