WBC warm-up match: Orix Buffaloes 8-3 Czech Republic (3rd, Sunmarine Miyazaki)

　オリックス・古田島成龍投手が、再起への一歩を踏み出した。２５年９月に右肘クリーニング手術を受けた右腕は３日、強化試合・チェコ戦（サンマリン宮崎）で実戦復帰。２点リードの３回から２番手で登板し、１回を完全、１奪三振の内容を見せた。同年８月１７日のウエスタン・中日戦（ナゴヤ）以来、１９８日ぶりのマウンドを終え「本当に久々だった。いい緊張感で投げることができた」と充実感をにじませた。

　先頭のエスカラを左飛に仕留めると、続くプレイダは中飛。最後はメンシクを３球で見逃し三振に封じた。「僕の長所は真っすぐのホップ量。ゾーン内で勝負して、ファウルやフライアウトをもらえた。そこを見せられたのはよかった」。その上で「まだまだですね。もう一段階上に行かないと、１軍の打者は抑えられない。（開幕まで）あと１か月、それを詰めていかないと」と課題も口にした。

"I was involved with many different people leading up to the surgery. There were a lot of things that were frustrating me before the surgery, but now I think it was a really good time," Furutajima said, looking back on his rehabilitation period. "My elbow is doing fine. Now it's just a matter of technique. I think I need to produce results and build up trust again, so I want to become someone who is needed," he promised, promising a full recovery.
