Orix Buffaloes pitcher Kaito Iriyama pitched a runs, one-hit inning. He took to mound as the fourth reliever in the seventh inning with the score at 4-1. He pressured leadoff batter Ohtani with fastballs and fork, then, with count at 1-2, jammed him with a 150 km/h fastball to Inhai, forcing him to fly out to left field. He Walk Suzuki, but Murakami struck out with a 147 km/h fastball to left field. With two outs and a runner on first, Yoshida singled to right field, putting runners on first and third, but he finally got Sato out on a grounder.
