Before the game, a video of cheers from former Japanese national team managers who have played in the WBC was shown on the electronic scoreboard at Vantelin Dome.

Hideki Kuriyama, who led the team to victory in the 5th WBC in 2023, smiled and said, "The long-awaited tournament is finally about to begin.
