Orix Buffaloes pitcher Seiryu Kotajima (26) made his first appearance in a live batting practice session on the 26th. He underwent right elbow cleaning surgery in September 2013 and has been training with the remaining team at Maishima in Osaka since February 1st. He joined the Miyazaki training camp on the 21st. He threw 20 pitches to four hitter, with only one hit. His fastest pitch was measured at 146 km/h. In 2013, he only recorded six hold in 20 games, but as a rookie in 2014, he was a key reliever, posting 24 hold in 50 games with ERA of 0.79. "I'm aiming to make it to the opening game, but I have to approach it with the attitude of, 'Maybe it'll be nice if I can make it.' Because of my personality, I tend to get carried away. I think I need to calm myself down and go for it," he said, looking back at his current state of mind.
