On the 26th, Rakuten Eagles held an unveiling ceremony for the opening count board at Sendai Station.

Takero Okajima, who took part in the event and was appointed as an ambassador this season, said, "I can't wait for the season to start. I'm really looking forward to it. (Since the stadium has been renovated) I hope you can expect home run throughout the year." Fellow ambassador Ginji also expressed his expectations for the start of the season, saying, "(After seeing this year's training camp) the players are in great condition. I hope they will liven things up with the combined strength of the young players and the veterans."

The opening game is on March 27th, against Orix Buffaloes (Kyocera Dome, 6:30 PM). The opening game at their home arena, Rakuten Rakuten Eagles Park, is on March 31st, against Softbank Hawks (4:00 PM).
