On the 25th, Lotte announced that the design of the captain's armband that will be worn by infielder Neftalí Soto, who has been appointed team captain this season, has been decided.
The captain's armband, which Soto personally supervised, is designed with the motif of the flag of Puerto Rico, Soto's home country, fused with the letter "C" for Captain, and the armband will be displayed on the right sleeve of the uniform.
The uniform with the captain's armband will be worn starting with the opening game against Seibu Lions on Friday, March 27th (Zozo Marine Stadium, game starts at 6:30 PM). Soto's appointment as captain was announced on January 30th. Notably, this marks the first time a foreign player has served as team captain since infielder Julio Franco in 1998, 28 years ago.
Additionally, The Marines Store will be selling the captain's armband (patch) separately. Details will be available on the team's official website at a later date.

"Serving as captain means a lot to me and to the people who support me in Puerto Rico. This captain's armband combines two things: my roots and home, and my role with this team. I will play with great pride, having the opportunity to represent this team and my country."
