Alexander Armenta pitcher, a Softbank Hawks development player for the WBC Mexico national team, took the mound in the 4th place in the send-off match against Samurai Japan (Sun Marine). He took 2 inning from the 6th inning with a hit and no runs, and took 3 struck out. In the 6th inning, with 2 outs and 1st and 2nd base, Teruaki Sato finished off with a slider and a struck out.
