Nippon-Ham announced on the 21st that Kotaro Kiyomiya underwent an examination at a hospital in Nago City that day and was diagnosed with right elbow arthritis. He is expected to be out of action for approximately three weeks.
Kiyomiya played in 138 games last season, batting .272 with 12 Home Run, 65 RBI, and 143 hit RBI in the league. He is expected to play a key role in the batting lineup this season as well.
