Lotte's catcher Ryusei Terachi took over as third defense from the fourth inning.
Terachi, starting line-up started as the fifth batter and catcher, went to third defense in the bottom of the fourth inning. He was hit by a ball from leadoff batter Murabayashi, but he handled it safely for an out, drawing applause from the fans in the stands.
In his second year as a professional last season, Terachi played in 116 games and reached the required number of at-bats, batting .256 with five Home Run and 33 RBI.
At Lotte, under the direction of new manager Saburo, outfielder Daito Yamamoto is also trying his hand at third defense during this spring's training camp.
