Nippon-Ham Fighters outfielder Kane Edokpolo Kane got his first hit in 13 at-bats.

In the fourth inning, with two outs and no runner on base, he came up to bat and, after a three-ball count, hit a 139 km/h pitch from Chunichi 's second pitcher, Arima. He hit a grounder through the gap between second and shortstop, hitting hit line drive to center field. It was his first hit in 13 at-bats and 12 At Bat, and he flashed a faint grin as he rounded first base.

Edopolo had two hit in the game against Hanshin Tigers on the 8th (at Nago) and was promoted to the first team, but after that he played in four external games, hit hitless in nine at At Bat with one Walk and five struck out. He hadn't had hit from his third at-bat on the 8th until his first at-bat of the day, when he grounded out to shortstop.
